CARE + MATERIALS
Polymer clay is a man-made, synthetic plastic polymer base (PVC) clay. It remains soft until you bake it at low temperatures. I use polymer clay that is wheat, dairy, gluten, sulphur, nut and latex free — and never tested on animals.
It's very light-weight, making it perfect for earrings and necklaces, because there's nothing more annoying than heavy earrings!
The type of clay I use retains flexibility, so the finished product remains very strong and durable. But this doesn't mean it's indestructible, polymer clay will brake if bent or stepped on.
925 STERLING SILVER:
All my chains, bails and earring hooks and wires are made of 925 Sterling Silver. After tons of research, I chose this material because, although it tarnishes over time, it can be easily cleaned and restored to it's original shine. It's very light and durable, and it's a beautiful neutral colour that goes well with everything. Most importantly, most people don't have an allergic reaction to Sterling Silver, and it's generally considered as safe to wear.
My jump rings are made of 304 grade Stainless Steel. This is a very strong material that resists scratches and corrosion and is very easy to care for.
304 Stainless Steel contains around 10% nickel, but it's generally considered hypoallergenic to most people. If you have a nickel allergy, and are not sure if Stainless Steel will be safe for you to wear, please contact me and I can replace it with iron nickel-free jump rings (only Stainless Steel jump rings are replaceable, not the Sterling Silver findings, so make sure you're OK wearing Sterling Silver).
- Remove it before going to bed, swimming, sun tanning, or showering.
- To clean the clay parts: use a damp soft cloth, and if needed, use a bit of gentle soap and water.
- To clean the findings: Use a soft microfiber cloth or a jewellery cloth.
- Store individually in a cool dry place. Don't expose to direct sunlight or the colours will fade somewhat over time.
- Keep away from harsh chemichals, perfumes and lotions.
These pieces of jewellery are not meant to be used by children, they have small components that might cause choking. Please keep them in a safe place.
